Joe Flaherty was an American actor, writer, and comedian best known for his work on the Canadian sketch comedy series SCTV from 1976 to 1984, where he created iconic characters like Count Floyd and Guy Caballero and won two Primetime Emmy Awards. He also appeared as Harold Weir on the NBC dramedy Freaks and Geeks and had notable film roles in Happy Gilmore and Back to the Future Part II. Later in his career, he was artist-in-residence at Humber College in Toronto, where he taught comedy writing.
